Our Green Approach
The Payne Company installs air conditioning and heating systems which use the least amount of energy to cool and heat a home, and that have the lowest environmental impact.
The “greenest” way to heat and cool a house is with the application of zoning. Using an existing heating and cooling system we install a Honeywell zone board and 2, 3, or 4 additional thermostats to “zone the house.” Rooms that are not being used are shut off to conserve energy. In the evening that entire side of the house not being used (living room, dining room, kitchen, etc.) is shut off to saves tremendous energy costs.
We only install new air conditioning systems that use the EPA approved, environmentally safe R410A refrigerant.
R-22 Freon when vented out of an air conditioner damages the ozone. This gas is currently in phase-out but is still being sold by our competition. The Payne Company only installs new air conditioning systems that use the EPA approved, environmentally safe R410A refrigerant. Carrier calls this gas, PURON.
S.E.E.R., or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating is the tested and regulated efficiency rating on all new air conditioning equipment. As of January 1, 2007 the minimum SEER rating on new products being manufactured is 13. However, to bring electric bills down, to qualify for Federal Tax Credits and to help the environment we install systems that can achieve as high as 21 SEER.
We’ve given up on gas guzzling service vans for our famous fleet of scions.
